DramaBox Free Coins (2026): Every Method, With Daily Caps
- Free opening episodes are the biggest allowance: the series we tested unlocked about 11 episodes before the paywall, and the boundary moves from title to title.
- The one-time sign-up tasks pay 450 coins in total (150 for signing in, 150 for enabling notifications, 50 each for Telegram, YouTube and TikTok) — the largest single free source in the app, and the one most people skip.
- Daily check-ins pay 165 coins across seven days, rising to 50 on day 7; watching an ad after check-in adds 30 more.
- Video tasks pay 20 coins each, up to 15 a day — 300 coins daily, which is the largest renewable free source and roughly six episodes.
- Ad unlocks are capped at 8 episodes per day. One locked episode costs 50 coins, so 300 coins is about six episodes.
The short version
DramaBox has five genuine free-coin sources, and they stack. Read the numbers below before you assume the usual thing — that free routes are always smaller on the app with the bigger price tag. DramaBox charges less per episode than ReelShort (50 coins against 60) and hands out a larger one-time bonus, so pound for pound its free tier buys you more viewing than its rival’s does.
What it will not do is let you finish a series for nothing. Every source is capped per day, and the paywall arrives earlier here than on some competitors.
Here is the honest framing: the free tier is a sampler with unusually generous sign-up terms. The maths is worked out in full further down.
Every figure on this page was read inside the DramaBox app on an Android device with a US Play account on 9 October 2026, and is recorded in our DramaBox price log. The currency was US dollars throughout. Caps and coin amounts change often — re-check in the app before relying on any single number.
1. Free opening episodes — the biggest allowance
Every series opens with a block of free episodes before the paywall appears. This is the largest free allowance on the platform, and because it applies per series rather than per account, it works across many different titles.
The boundary is not fixed. In our October 2026 test a 43-episode title ran free from episode 1 and charged from episode 12 — roughly 11 free episodes. On a different title we still had an ad-unlock option as late as episode 20. DramaBox does not publish the number anywhere, which is why every article that states a fixed figure is guessing.
Compare like with like and the difference is real: an 81-episode series on ReelShort ran 16 free episodes, while our 43-episode DramaBox title locked at 12. Nothing further down this page changes that — budget for the paywall arriving sooner here, however generous the coin tasks turn out to be.
The per-series block is also worth far more than any coin trick. Suppose you sample five series and average 11 free episodes each: that is 55 episodes of viewing for nothing, against the 300 coins a day the hardest-working free route pays out. Spend the evening on the free episodes, not on coins.
2. The one-time sign-up bonuses — 450 coins
This is the most valuable free source on DramaBox, and the one almost nobody finishes. The task page pays out in five chunks:
- +150 coins for signing in with any account
- +150 coins for enabling push notifications
- +50 coins for joining the app’s Telegram channel
- +50 coins for following the app on YouTube
- +50 coins for following the app on TikTok
That is 450 coins in total — nine episodes at 50 coins each, from a single sitting. For scale, that is nearly three times what a full week of check-ins pays you.
The trade is honest and worth stating: you are handing over a notification channel and a social follow for each block. If you are not comfortable with that, the signing-in task alone is still 150 coins for nothing but a login.
Do the sign-in task first — it needs no third-party account and is the single largest chunk. Then decide, task by task, whether the notification and social follows are worth 50 coins apiece to you. Nothing here is required to use the app.
3. Daily check-in coins — 165 coins a week
The check-in calendar is the part everyone knows about, and it is not DramaBox’s strongest suit. The seven-day cycle we documented pays:
10 → 10 → 20 → 20 → 25 → 30 → 50 coins. That is 165 coins across the week, or about three episodes.
One extra to know: after checking in, the app offers +30 coins for watching an advertisement. That single button is worth more than five of the seven check-in days, which tells you what the check-in calendar is really for.
ReelShort pays 375 coins over its equivalent week — more than double — with a 200-coin day-7 payout against DramaBox’s 50. If daily streaks are your main free source, that app is the better one, and we break the comparison down in our ReelShort free-coin guide.
4. Video tasks — 300 coins a day
This is DramaBox’s largest renewable free source, and it is buried under the check-in calendar where most people never scroll.
Video tasks pay 20 coins each, up to 15 tasks a day — 300 coins daily. At 50 coins an episode that is about six episodes a day, every day, without paying anything.
Put the two sources side by side and the check-in calendar is decoration: one day of video tasks (300 coins) is worth almost two full weeks of checking in (165 coins). If you only do one thing on this app for free coins, do this one.
The honest cost is time and attention: fifteen tasks is fifteen videos you sit through. It is the best possible trade on the platform, but it is not passive.
5. Ad unlocks — capped at 8 episodes a day
Selected titles let you unlock an episode by watching an advertisement instead of spending coins. This is the only free route that costs you no coins at all, which makes it the best value per episode when it is available.
Two hard limits we confirmed in the app:
- The daily cap is 8 ad unlocks — the popup carries your count and stops at eight
- It only appears on selected titles, so you cannot count on it for the series you actually want
For comparison, ReelShort allows 10. Two episodes a day is a small gap, but it is a gap, and it means DramaBox’s “watch an ad instead of paying” route runs out slightly sooner.
What the free coins actually buy
Individually the sources look small. Stacked, the first week adds up like this:
| Source | Coins | Episodes at 50 coins |
|---|---|---|
| One-time sign-up tasks (all five) | 450 | 9.0 |
| Seven-day check-in | 165 | 3.3 |
| +30 ad after each check-in, seven days | 210 | 4.2 |
| First-week coin total | 825 | 16.5 |
Treat that bottom row as the ceiling, not the default. It assumes you clear all five sign-up tasks and watch the post-check-in ad every single day. Do only the sign-in task and check in without the ads and the same week pays 315 coins — six episodes. The 16.5 is what is available to someone willing to do the work, and it does not yet include the ~11 free opening episodes waiting on every series you start.
Against ReelShort on the same basis the welcome gap is stark. Its new-account bonus is 50 coins and its documented check-in week is 375 — 425 coins in total, which at 60 coins an episode buys about 7 episodes, against DramaBox’s 16.5.
Day to day the two are much closer, and the advantage narrows. DramaBox settles at roughly 300 coins from video tasks, plus about 24 a day from check-ins, plus 30 for the post-check-in ad — about 354 coins, or seven episodes. ReelShort’s renewable ceiling is a 340-coin watch-time ladder plus its check-in week spread across seven days, roughly 394 coins, which at 60 coins an episode is about six and a half episodes. DramaBox still edges ahead — but only because its episodes cost 50 coins rather than 60.
Which means the standard advice, that ReelShort is the more generous free app, is only half right. It is more generous on streaks and ad unlocks. It is less generous where it counts most: the week you arrive.
None of this changes the fact that DramaBox charges from around episode 11, while ReelShort’s free block ran to 16 on the series we tested. More free coins and an earlier paywall can both be true, and here they are. Compare the two apps side by side before deciding which one to spend your first week on.
Member points are not free coins
DramaBox has a points system that is easy to mistake for another free-coin source. It is not one. The app states plainly that points can only be earned by paid members, and that 500 points buys one extra day of membership.
That makes points a discount on a subscription you already have, not a route to watching without one. It is worth collecting if you subscribe — and it should have no bearing on whether you do.
The rule almost nobody knows: reward coins are spent first
This one is buried in the store page’s own help text, and it changes how you should think about buying coins.
DramaBox spends your reward coins first when you unlock an episode. The coins you collected from check-ins, video tasks and sign-up bonuses are consumed before the coins you paid for.
Two practical consequences:
- The free coins are never wasted by buying early. Collection order is set by the app, not by you, so there is no advantage in delaying a purchase to “use up” the free balance.
- Your paid balance lasts longer than the receipt suggests. Any free coins earned between buying a pack and finishing a series still get used first.
It also means the 450-coin sign-up bonus is genuinely worth 9 episodes — not a sweetener that quietly expires while you spend real money.
What does not work — and what to avoid
We have not verified any working public redeem code for DramaBox, and no legitimate service hands out free coins. Sites offering either typically want one of two things: your account credentials, or a payment for a “tool” that does nothing. Both are ways to lose money or an account.
The search term “DramaBox free coins” is itself a hunting ground for this, so the list of dead ends is worth reading before you click anything:
- Coin generators and hacks. They do not exist. The coin balance is held server-side, which is exactly why no external tool can touch it.
- Modified or tampered app builds. These are a copyright violation, they get accounts banned, and they are a common vector for malware. They are also the fastest way to get a site deindexed if you ever write about them.
- Third-party code lists. Unverified, usually expired, and often used purely to harvest email addresses.
The app has no input field for codes. There is nothing to redeem. If a site is showing you a box to type a code into, that box is on that site, not in DramaBox — which tells you the code is decorative.
The strategy we actually use
Clear the five sign-up tasks on day one. That is 450 coins — nine episodes — before you have watched anything. It is the single largest free block on the platform and it takes minutes.
Run the video tasks while you sample series. Twenty coins a task, fifteen a day. This is the largest renewable source and it is the one people skip. Clear them every day for a week and you will have banked around 2,000 coins without paying anything.
Count the free block on each series before you commit. Scroll the episode list to the first padlock. It moves from title to title, and knowing the number is what stops you spending coins on episodes you could have had free.
Only then price coins against membership. Finishing one series with coins and finishing two or more with a subscription are different purchases with very different economics. Our DramaBox price breakdown works through where that line sits.
Set a reminder before any subscription renews. Renewal is where people lose money on these apps, not the first payment. The mechanics are the same as cancelling DramaBox.
When this approach does not work
Be clear about the boundaries, because they are real:
- If you watch more than a dozen episodes a day, this does not work. The free sources are capped by design, and the ceiling is roughly 300 coins plus eight ad unlocks. Past that you are paying, and the only useful question left is which payment shape is cheapest — see our full DramaBox review.
- All figures are Android, October 2026. Coin amounts, task counts and caps are exactly the kind of thing apps tune monthly.
- DramaBox prices by country. The app showed us Japanese yen through one connection and US dollars through another on consecutive days. Coin prices clearly move with region; treat the coin earn rates above as the US-region figures we measured rather than universal ones.
- If you expect these methods to stay static, they will not. Tasks rotate and caps change.
Bottom line
DramaBox will hand you 450 coins in sign-up tasks, 165 coins for a week of check-ins and 300 coins a day from video tasks, plus eight ad unlocks a day. Episode 1 is free, roughly 11 episodes are free before the paywall, and one locked episode costs 50 coins.
The free tier here is larger than its reputation suggests — roughly double ReelShort’s in episodes watched during your first week, because the one-time bonus is bigger and the per-episode cost is lower. What it does not have is a generous streak: ReelShort’s 375-coin check-in week is more than twice DramaBox’s 165.

Frequently asked questions
Can you get unlimited free coins on DramaBox?
No. Every free source is capped per day. We counted them on Android in October 2026: video tasks at 20 coins each up to 15 a day (300 coins), a seven-day check-in worth 165 coins, 30 coins for watching an ad after check-in, and 8 ad unlocks a day. One locked episode costs 50 coins, so the ceiling is roughly a dozen episodes a day of active effort — never an unlimited supply.
Does DramaBox give you free coins for signing up?
Yes, and it is the biggest single free source in the app. The task page pays 150 coins for signing in with any account, 150 for enabling push notifications, and 50 each for joining Telegram and following the app on YouTube and TikTok — 450 coins in total, which buys nine episodes at 50 coins each. It is one-time, and it requires linking social accounts, so it is a real trade rather than a freebie.
How many episodes can you watch free on DramaBox before paying?
It varies by series and DramaBox does not publish the number. In our October 2026 test, a 43-episode title was free from episode 1 and hit the paywall at episode 12 — roughly 11 free episodes. On another title we still had an ad-unlock option at episode 20. Open the episode list of the series you want and scroll to the first padlock before you commit.
Do DramaBox check-in coins expire?
The check-in coins we accrued added to our balance rather than resetting each day, and we did not see an expiry notice on them. The mechanic that does matter is spending order: DramaBox states that reward coins are used first when you unlock an episode, so the coins you collected free are consumed before the ones you paid for.
Is there a DramaBox redeem code for free coins?
We have not verified any working public redeem code for DramaBox. The genuine free sources are all inside the app and are listed on this page. Any site asking for your login details, or a payment, in exchange for coins is a red flag — the coin balance is held server-side and no outside tool can add to it.
